Hello!  My name is Terrilyn Simmons.  Welcome to P.A.W.S. Preschool!  I am so glad you are interested in enrolling your child at my preschool.  I know you will be pleased with your choice.  I have a Master’s in Education and almost 15 years of formal teaching experience.  This experience has provided me with the opportunity to teach children of many different ages, including that of second grade, first grade, and kindergarten.  As a result, I have learned a great deal about working with young students and setting up a positive learning environment where all students feel loved, safe, and successful.  (I also happen to have a boatload of learning games, toys, activities, and resources!!)

I absolutely love working with younger children!  I love their positive energy, their curious minds, and their natural desire to learn and explore.  I find great satisfaction in designing and planning creative lessons that capture and captivate the interest of young learners, while at the same time teaching core concepts and essential skills to help your child thrive in a school environment.  My passion, drive, and investment in teaching children is genuine and real.  I even find myself constantly involved in this during my spare time!

Having a positive and healthy relationship with children is very important to me.  It is always my number one goal to make sure the students I work with feel safe and cared for.  They need to know that I am there for them as a support, a cheerleader, and a person they can trust.  Once this has been established with students, it’s incredible to see how their confidence and performance start to soar!

On a more personal note, I love being a mother.  I have one child, a daughter, who is the light of my life!  We love spending time together and going on fun adventures.  Some of my interests include camping, playing the piano, going on long walks, hiking, traveling, reading, and watching a good movie.
